Charlotte, who lives on her husband’s family farm in Abbeystead near Lancaster with her husband and three children, will officially take over the role in June from current Secretary Linda Allan, who has served the association for the past five years.

Currently employed by Wynnstay, Charlotte will be stepping away from her position there in order to fully concentrate on her new role within the association. She will start her new role in the middle of June.

Charlotte and her family have a long-standing involvement with the North of England Mule breed, having bred Mules for more than 50 years. Their farming enterprise lambs around 900 Swaledale ewes each year crossed with Bluefaced Leicester tups, alongside a successful showing team which competes at various agricultural shows throughout the season.

Charlotte’s enthusiasm for the role was infectious throughout the appointment process and, with her strong knowledge of both Mules and the wider farming community, the association is confident she will step into the position with ease.

NEMSA would also like to thank Linda Allan for her dedication and commitment over the last five years and wishes Charlotte every success as she begins her new role with the association.
