Secretary of the North of England Mule Sheep Association

Marion Hope has been appointed as the new Secretary of the North of England Mule Sheep Association.

She replaces Dorothy Bell who has recently retired after holding the post for almost 20 years.

Originally from the Wigton area, moving to near Hexham following her marriage to the Chairman of the NEMSA Hexham branch, she now lives at Albierigg, Canonbie.

Marion is a breed enthusiast & together with her husband David, farm a 600 acre upland unit producing 200 NEMSA lambs per year for sale and as replacements for their own 150 ewe Mule flock. In 2007 and 2008 the Hopes produced the leading pens of lambs at the Hexham NEMSA sales.

This practical knowledge and her background in agriculturally based administration make her an ideal person to promote the breed on behalf of the Association.
