HAWES BRANCH REPORT

I am sitting in my living room trying to compile my first ever report for MULE NEWS. It’s a cold, wet October evening and the hot, dry summer seems a distant memory, but both summer and back-end have been a real treat! (Makes the preparation of Mule gimmers much easier.)

Our year began with a trip north of the border to the Royal Highland Show. Thanks go to Lazonby Branch for their help and assistance and also to everyone who helped man the stand. A new “sheep marquee” was somewhat disappointing, resulting in rather low interest. However, I still enjoyed my day, met several new faces and what talk there was of trade and demand seemed positive. Thanks go to Cecil Hutchinson for kindly loaning one Mule ewe with twin Beltex lambs, and to Martin for sorting it all out.

So, onto our sales which began with Leyburn on 8th September.

support over the last 12 months, especially our secretary, Val. Thanks also to our auction marts for their continued support and co-operation.
