WEST CUMBRIA BRANCH REPORT 2007

What a wonderful year to begin as Chairman of the West Cumbria branch but we will get through it and things can only get better and they have as another top pen gimmer lamb came to Terrace farm this summer – the pen is getting fuller!

The West Cumbria branch was present at North Sheep which was a wonderful event and well supported except by the Chairman (me).

Eventually lamb sales were held in our area at Cockermouth, Wigton and Carlisle. Cockermouth began the week with a decent trade peaking at £100 for R & J Emmott but unfortunately there was no show. As I still have the cup from last year I may put my name on it again!

Numbers and prices were well down at all sales but now bird flu is back, lamb will be on the Christmas menu.
